The Fellowship/Conference is an annual Christian
men’s event sponsored by the Synod of Mid Atlantic
- Men’s Council - Presbyterian Church (USA). Our Mission
in part is to encourage and support men to come to know
Jesus Christ and be enriched in the Spirit. Come and join
us for what promises to be an exciting weekend event full
of great speakers, fellowship and good food.
Speakers/Leaders:
Rev. Dr. Charles (Buz) Myers
graduated from Duke University with a B.A. degree in religion and from Princeton Theological Seminary with an M.Div. degree and a Ph.D. degree in New Testament language and literature. Before he began his full-time teaching career at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA, in 1986, Dr. Myers taught courses in biblical studies at Princeton Seminary, at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, and at Swarthmore College. While at Gettysburg College Prof. Myers has been honored three times with the Student Senate’s “Faculty Appreciation Award” for excellence in teaching (1988, 1990, 2001), and in 2002 he became the Edwin T. and Cynthia Shearer Johnson Distinguished Professor of Teaching in the Humanities.
Dr. Craig Wansink is Associate Dean of the College, and Chair of the Department of Religious Studies, at Virginia Wesleyan College. He also is the pastor at Squires Memorial Presbyterian Church in
Norfolk. He has studied at universities in Japan, Jordan, Germany, and Israel, and his Ph.D. is from Yale University.
Rev. George Goodman graduated from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He became pastor of the C. N. Jenkins Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charlotte,
NC and served until 1990. He is currently Associate Presbyter for Presbytery of the Peaks
in Lynchburg, VA.
John Groth has been married for 29 years to his wife, Ranelle, and they have three great children. He currently works as Regional Director for Priority One Foundation men’s ministry in Delaware and recently retired as a Chaplain, Lt Col (ret) from the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He combines Biblical truth with
experiences in sports, the military, pastoring and family life, among other things, to help encourage and challenge men and their families.
Whitney Myers is the Praise Team Director at Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He has composed over 20 hymns, songs, and choral arrangements. Whitney has participated in the music at our Massanetta Men’s conferences since 2000. This year he will lead our music program.
Rev. Carl Mazza is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary. Carl founded Meeting Ground in 1981 which is a community-based ministry for the homeless and other marginalized people in Elkton, MD. Meeting Ground offers emergency and transitional housing and support for families, women and men who are
experiencing homelessness.
Eric Rice-Johnston will be playing the bag pipes for all
to enjoy.
