Keynote Speaker

The Rev. Dr. Neal Presa, Moderator of the 220th General Assembly, has served a pastor of the Middlesex Presbyterian Church (New Jersey) since 2003.  In additional to being a pastor, he is affiliated Assistant Professor of Preaching and Worship at New Brunswick Theological Seminary. 

Neal is a committed ecumenist, lending leadership to the World Alliance of Reformed Churches.  He serves on the Executive Committee and serving as convener of the Caribbean and North American Area Council since 2006.  Neal has also served a Trustee of Princeton Theological Seminary, Chair of the General Assembly Special Committee on the Heidelberg Catechism and formerly as Vice Chair of the General Assembly Mission Council.  Neal has a wife and two sons, and enjoys reading, travel, politics and working out.

Tommy Loren Burleson has had a successful career in the NBA, playing over eight season with three teams, the Seattle Sonics, Kansas city Kings and the Atlanta Hawks.  Tommy is a native of Crossmore, NC. In 1974, he entered NC State University, where he received many honors for his talent in basketball and helped to lead NC State to the 1974 NCAA National Championship.  Tommy was a member of the 1972 USA Olympic Team and was also part of the USA World University Team in Moscow in 1973, where the USA Team went on to win the Gold Medal. Although Tommy's popularity stems from his talent in basketball, his passion is for developing his local, national and global missions ministry.

The Rev. Bobbi White is the General Presbyter of the Presbytery of Western North Carolina.  She was raised in Black Mountain, where she was blessed with a broad vision of the church from many retired missionaries who lived in the area.  As a second career pastor, she brings skills from having worked in the corporate management world and also from running a family business.
Rev. White has a passion for serving Jesus Christ and a heart for both small and large churches, church transformation and mission.  She attended Queens University in Charlotte and obtained a BA.  She earned a Masters Degree in Business from Columbia University in NYC and her M.Div from Columbia Theological Seminary.   She also attended the World Council of Churches Graduate School in Bossey, Switzerland.  

The Rev. Dr. Donald K. McKim is a Reform theologian and has served as Executive Editor for Theology and Reference for Westminster John Knox Press.  He was the Academic Dean and Professor of Theology at Memphis Theological Seminary and Professor of Theology at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary.  Dr. McKim studied at Westminster College (PA) and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and recived his PhD from the University of Pittsburgh.

The Rev. Kevin Long was raised in Southern California and in Murrysville, PA.  He graduated from Wake Forest University, double majoring in biology and psychology.  After pursuing a master's degree in psychology at ODU, Kevin moved to New York City where he worked for a number of years as a private tutor.  Kevin then responded to the call to ministry and received his M.Div from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.  After graduating, he served as an Associate Pastor at Orchard Park PC in Indianapolis before becoming pastor of the of the Presbyterian Church, Sewickley in September 2011. 

Song Leader and Chorus Director

Jocelyn Thompson is the Performing Arts Chair at Garinger High School in Charlotte.  Jocelyn received her Bachelors of Music, Masters of Music and Masters of Education from the University of North Carolina.  She specialized in piano, accompanying and a second emphasis in mallet percussion instruments.  In 1996, she became the Director of Music/Organist at Memorial Presbyterian Church, Charlotte.  Jocelyn has conducted and accompanied All-Couny Choruses and directs mass church choirs each year.  Jocelyn will lead us in singing and provide music for the conference.
